Great gift idea!
I purchased this instead of the pricier version advertised elsewhere, since it was for a young child, and I am quite pleased. This is the perfect size for a child. It is a nice looking, well made piece–no damage from being sat upon by a four year old. My 2 year old grandson dearly loved it, and the tones sound fabulous. The carrying case is a nice plus, as well. I am guessing the mallets will not last long since I had to find them numerous times before he left our house, but they should be able to be replaced easily.

This Drum Surprised Me!
You know, playing musical instruments is pretty challenging. I can say this with confidence as someone who tried to learn the guitar but ended up with nothing to show for it. But it turns out there are instruments so simple that all you need to do is tap on them, and they produce pleasant sounds. It doesn’t even matter much in what order you play since the notes are arranged harmoniously.I’m talking about a steel tongue drum with petals. The instrument is made of high-quality metal and coated with a beautiful navy blue finish. Its 11 petals allow you to produce a variety of sounds. Keep in mind that its diameter is only six inches, so playing it with your hands might be a bit tricky. That’s why the manufacturer includes drumsticks in the set—and honestly, I find this very convenient. There’s also a songbook included, though I haven’t tried it yet. I plan to, and it seems like a nice addition. Kudos to the manufacturer for thinking of everything.These kinds of drums are often used in music therapy, yoga, hypnotherapy, or just for fun. I think this drum would also be great for kids since you don’t need any special skills to make it sound good. You simply pick it up and start playing.Probably the only downside I’d like to mention is that the stickers with note numbers on the petals started peeling off even before I began using the instrument. I also couldn’t help but notice that these stickers look exactly like the ones you find on furniture parts you buy on Amazon. Coincidence?Overall, I think this drum is a successful combination of quality, convenience, and affordability. If you’re looking for something to help you relax, reflect, or meditate, this drum is a great choice.

This steel tongue drum is pure zen with a side of chaos — in the best way possible! 🥁✨ The moment I started playing, I felt like a peaceful monk who also has rhythm. The sound is so calming it could probably convince a toddler to nap (I said probably). The tones are beautiful, relaxing, and make me feel like I’m scoring my own nature documentary every time I tap it. It’s sturdy, shiny, and surprisingly easy to play — even my cat thinks she’s a musical prodigy now. Whether you’re chasing inner peace or just want to sound fancy while randomly hitting metal, this drum delivers major good vibes!

Simple instrument with nice tone.
I bought this out of curiosity and I am happy with my purchase. The tone is very pleasing. It is well made and looks nice. Small enough to take along anywhere. The instructions are good. The songbook is very limited given only 8 notes available on this instrument. Tongues are numbered instead of using standard notation to designate the note, thus confusing to play along with other instruments. (What number is C?) The volume is modest and striking the tongue harder degrades the tone, so enjoy it for what it is.

Musical magic.
I bought this little steel drum as a gift for my 94 year old friend. She is in a care facility, and this works beautifully for her to still enjoy playing a musical instrument without it being too loud and disrupting to the other residents. She holds the drum in her lap, and every note still sounds beautiful. We did change out the numbers for letters because she could recognize the chords better that way. She has really been enjoying this, and she says the tones are “soothing for her soul”.

Beautiful tone
I had to return this through no fault of the seller because I’d bought it as a gift & it turned out they already had one in & in the same cord. I do have to share that it is a lovely drum & the tone are beautiful.Since by the time it arrived, I knew we would have to return it, I did not spend a lot of time on it but did notice the instruction book is lacking for someone who has no musical experience whatsoever. Most of these are marketed to people of all levels of experience, including none at all. There are a few good UTube videos out there but if I had bought this for my own pleasure, I would have been disappointed with the instruction booklet – basically, you don’t know what the songs ‘should’ sound like, so it would be hard.That said, this drum is very attractive, seems sturdy – & as mentioned – the tone is lovely.

I bought it for my grandson for Xmas , I m looking forward to playing together the songs in the booklet like twinkle twinkle little star . It sounds heavenly! Brings out the little kid in me. I’m sure we will have fun time on Xmas day.

I had no previous knowledge of this type on instrument. My kids and I decided to buy it. We all love it. Ages 9, 12, and me (late 30s). So it’s not for only toddlers. It’s a fun instrument. We found websites that taught us how to play songs like Mary Had a Little Lamb since we didn’t know most of the songs in the songbook it came with. But that’s okay because it’s fun to just experiment with. If you hit the tongue in the middle you get a clear tone and there is no way for it to be “out of tune” as some reviewers said. This would make a great gift for anyone who loves music. The quality is beautiful – it is really nice to look at – and the sound is relaxing.

This little tongue drum is so beautiful and the sound you get from it is very relaxing and soothing. I ordered the malachite colour and it is gorgeous. Slowly learning some new songs, but even just playing to your own rhythm is fun.

It’s okay. I was expecting higher quality but it’s fine for the price. Works decently, sound quality is okay. The numbers are covered by a protective sticker which, when removed, leaves sticky gunk around the numbers.
