Can a simple sound bring a moment of calm?
Finding a few moments of peace in the middle of a busy life can feel nearly impossible. I’ve always been interested in meditation and mindfulness, but I needed something simple and beautiful to help me get started. This singing bowl set seemed like a perfect fit, and when it arrived, I was so impressed with how absolutely gorgeous the bowl is.Playing the bowl for the first time was a fantastic experience. It was so easy to get a pure, resonant tone with the mallet, even as a beginner. The sound itself is truly gorgeous and so calming. I will say, my only wish is that the sound lasted a little bit longer, but for a quick moment of mindfulness, the length of the tone is perfect for me. The little cushion that comes with it is also a great touch, keeping the bowl stable and adding to the aesthetic.I’ve found a couple of unconventional ways to use this that have been a game changer. I’ve started using the sound of the bowl as a signal to my toddler. When I ring it, it means it’s time to start winding down for our quiet reading time before bed. It’s such a gentle, calming cue that has helped make our nighttime routine so much smoother. I’ve also used it during my own little self care moments. clear sound and soothing tone, great starter set at a fair price
This is a really nice singing bowl, and the fact that it comes as a little kit makes it even better. You get the 6-inch bowl, a cushion, and the mallet… everything you need to get started. Singing bowls can get very pricey, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but for the price this one feels like a good value. It’s a nice in-between size, not too big and not too small, and looks nice.The sound is lovely. The tone is clear and lasts for quite a while. Funny side note, when I tried it the first time my dogs actually stopped barking. I don’t know if that was a one-off or if I’ve stumbled onto a new dog-calming trick, but I’ll be trying that again. :-)I went to a wellness retreat earlier this year where they used a whole set of beautiful Himalayan bowls, and while this isn’t that level of artistry, it still captures some of the same feeling. It’s a simple design, no engravings or special markings, but the bronze finish looks nice and the bowl itself feels sturdy and solid in the hands. My only wish is that the listing gave more detail about the sound note or frequency it’s tuned to. This small bowl packs a big punch! Great little set with a small, but resonant bowl that produces a big sound. Comes with a mallet and a pillow to set the bowl on. Looks gorgeous in any space! My husband loves this singing bowl. He is really into Holistic means and healing and is level 1 Reiki so he was super excited to see that I had gotten this for our house. Its our first and only singing bowl, hopefully not our last. As soon as it was unearthed, he started to lightly tap the sides to fill our apt with the ringing sounds. As I was sitting right next to him and not hard of hearing, the continual ring actually hurt my ears and our animals too. But it was soothing for him. Im assuming my inner Chakra is highly off as the rings continued to shiver annoyingly throughout my body, not sure how anyone calls it soothing. But my husband on the other hand, was in sound waves heaven. Depending on where was hit, produced a shrill note that rang throughout our house for around 10 full, slow heartbeats. My hubby suffers from tinnitus from prior military service and almost all noise effects him negatively, so the fact that this was soothing rather than grating is a huge win!!Details on the bowl itself…Heavy, golden bowl.Comes with small, blue, decorative pillow to sit bowl on.Comes with a lightweight wooden mallet with a strap taped on the end to strike bowl with.Bowls that are 6 inches are usually found to play a B note (we looked this up, not just guessed it).Did I mention heavy but pretty, cause it is.Reiki and holistic hubby tested, approved and recommended.
